Ive got an imac 500 yoke
Ive got an epson 12something scanner

when i scan stuff anything bigger than about A5 I get a dialog box sayin "insufficient allocated memory". I've been told to just change the aloocated memory but I dont have a clue how to do it.

Anyone able to help?

i think pantone might know about this one, but as far as i know, go to the applications folder in the main hard drive yokey, find the icon for your scanning program, click on it and press apple key + 'i' so you get the information about the program, then using the drop-down thing, select memory, then bump up whatever the allocated memory is.

this is if you're on os9.x, though. dunno about cheap tacky looking osX.

hope this helps.

memory allocation is done by the OS in OS X onwards - good ould unix kernel - so you should only need to do this sorta thing is OS 9.x and previous.
