Some of you may remember Jawbox, or was it Burning Airlines? who played over here in the Funnel. Others may know J Robbins the producer, others may remember Shonben - Janets band. Anyway, please read the following from Desoto Records.

"Hi friends of J. Robbins, Janet Morgan and Cal Robbins:

J. and Janet's baby boy Cal was born with a serious genetic condition
called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Though there is no cure for this
condition, there are lots of treatments that promise to give Cal the

possible quality of life. Unfortunately, many of these, especially the
alternative treatments, are not covered by health insurance.

J. and Janet have given so much over the years to the music community
we're all a part of, so Bill and I are hoping you can see in your
hearts
to help them out now. We've set up a website with more information and
a place to make a donation. All of the money will go straight to J. and
Janet to help defray their growing medical bills.

Sad news, goign to a funeral for a five year old girl from the town tommorow, cancer of the spine, childrens deaths /illnesss is extra tough

HEy - the is help out there - have they contacted the Muscular Dystrophy Ireland - they have a hugh datebase and loads of help and positive things to hand. They are based in Dublin - around Phisboro somewhere but they are in the book. Also have centres nationwide.

Did voluntary work with them years ago when I was doing my initial degree in TCD - amazing people!

Hey I like jawbox as well, you don't need to prove to me that they're a great band.

but some of their stuff I just find a bit formulaic and tedious (e.g. Mirrorful), at their best they're amazing

maybe so, maybe so. I just think melodically and rhythmically Burning Airlines are way more interesting. I will say that they miss Kim Coletta's bass playing and the general rockin' attitude of Jawbox though

In conclusion, I think J. Robbins is deadly
