We're delighted to announce a very last minute show of Japanese legend Ruins (alone). the venue is tiny, so it wil be a very intimate gig..

RUINS ALONE (Yoshida Tatsuya solo)
Yoshida is one of the most innovative drummer/composer/improviser in Japan's new music scene. pioneer of Drum & Bass duo RUINS was founded by Yoshida in '85 . Tunes are complicated and mysterious, and songs are sung in the language of their own invention. It's high-tension, wild, heavy, speedy, acute, and powerful tremendous ensemble never sounds like they are only two players. now RUINS had no bassist and currently he has been playing as RUINS ALONE. playing RUINS songs with sampling bass

any more info on this? tickets on the door? anyone else playing? times?

he's on at about 9.15. tickets available on the door

how was this? Interested to hear.

It was upsettingly incredible - possibly the greatest performance by a human being ever in Ireland. There was even a little 5-second drum solo about halfway through the set, not joking. I predict every one of the thirty or so people in attendance will go on to form some of the most influential Zeuhl bands of the next decade

Road trip (unless you're in Cork already): http://www.cranelanetheatre.ie/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=804:ruins-alone&Itemid=1
