This is a saddest news I've heard all year. 'The quiet one' was such an under-rated musician, writer and vocalist. If Waters was the creative genius and Gilmour the voice and guitar, he was the soul of Pink Floyd, a man of fragile voice but the most amazing keyboard playing, possed with god's glue in his fingers. That's almost certainly the end of Floyd now, and just when things were beginning to thaw with Roger. Deighted I got to see them a couple of times, and Wright on stage with Gilmour too.

Strange was just listening to Shine On You Crazy Diamond out of nowhere - how apt.

I heard this this morning. Its shit news. I'm a huge fan. Wright came across as such an unassuming bloke. Humble, despite his undoubted greatness. And you had to admire him for standing up to Roger Waters' ego before The Final Cut.

Really sad news. Rick Wright was a beautiful pianist and keys player. Some of my favourite stuff by him was on 'Echoes', Great Gig in the Sky', actually all over Dark Sde of the moon, and Wish you were here.
