GO TRABI / 27.05.05 / GLENART CASTLE

As I'm sure you all know by this stage, next Friday (27.05.05) is a date for your social diaries. The first of Go Trabi's summer season of Events in Castles is taking place at Glenart Castle, Arklow, Co. Wicklow.
Featuring two rooms of live electro, techno, electronica, dub & illbient, this medevial melting pot of sound and vision is sure to be a magical experience.

In the 'Main Hall' as our headliner, we have Kompakt records' prizefighter REINHARD VOIGT laying down a gripping live set of pure, unaffected techno. The kind of relentless, pulsating rhythms that grab you in their jaws, grip you ‘til you gasp, and shake you into submission. It’s music for the head and hips: an instruction to get physical, a challenge to your inhibitions, and a soundtrack for your pleasure and desires. Reinhard flys over to us from his hometown of Cologne, Germany for his premiere appearance on irish soil. His set is sure shake the walls of the castle to its foundations, and leave us all smiling gleefully as we approach sunrise.
Beforehand we are proud to present a home visit from RON'S MOBILE DISCO. Fresh from his residency at the Zentraus club in Barcelona, Ron's will be laying down his own unique tough and funky techno rhythms. Expect an energetic live performance and some new latino vibes in a set sure to have the place hopping.
And kicking off the live action in the Main Hall is CHYMERA (aka Brendan Gregory). The Corkonian has put himself firmly on the map of Irish electronic music producers. He has recently released his impressive debut album "Everybody Dies... Even Horses" on Iterate Recordings. His set on the night is sure to be storming with strands of grooving electro and techno, and one not to be missed.
On DJ duty in the Main Hall will be local heros SEAMUS HARTE & STEFFEN K.

The second room is the 'Chamber' and our main act here is Finnish maestro of melodies Esa Ruoho, aka LACKLUSTER. This inspirational producer is responsible for some of the most beautiful intelligent dance music released over the past ten years. Esa's collected ambient works are spread across labels such as De:Focus, U-Cover, Merck and Psychonavigation. No stranger to the Irish electronica scene, Esa's live performances are always a delight to hear. Smooth harmonics and perfectly placed beats make the music of Lackluster an engaging experience and is a perfect end to our night's entertainment, bringing smiles to our ears!
Earlier we have THALAMUS of the Alphabet Set collective doing his thing live. Thalamus uses found sounds and various instruments, shredding, bending and blending them with a komputar. Expect melancholic melodics and crunchy beets. Releases include tracks on one Elusive and two Alphabet Set compilations, with a mini-album scheduled for release this summer.
Also from the Alphabet Set we have SARSPARILLA who makes beefy melodic beat music with various electronic bits
and bobs. Expect proto-keys and electro knobbly knees. Releases include an EP, "She'll Do", and tracks on two compilations under Alphabet Set with an album scheduled for release this summer.
Belfast born SEAN QUINN will be our first live performer in the Chamber. Sean will have us all moogified with his excellent analogue arrangements of sound. There is a warm retro feel to Sean's music with odes to the greats such as Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, Human League and Tangerine Dream. Sean has being producing electronica music for many years, and his debut solo album on Psychonavigation is a real treat indeed. It is a brilliantly crafted slice of subliminal rhythms and magical melodies. Sean's set is sure to be one of the highlights of the night, be sure to catch his set.
On duty between the acts we have special guest Deejays playing an assortment of electronica classics.

Visuals and slide projection will be provided by BEAM SUPREME, C-DIVISION & ITISON
