    "A study of undergraduate men found that exposure to sexually violent heavy metal music increased the tendency to stereotype sex roles and hold more negative perceptions of women"

    Maybe people who are predisposed to "stereotype sex roles" listen to music that reenforces those views.
    There's quite a few chicken egg assumptions here, assuming causes which may infact be symptoms.
