Can you blame them for doin it? They need money. UN gave them fuck all.

look at the two basic stats here considered:

1: the farmers get way more money for poppy sales then they would from making wheat

2: poppy's need less water than wheat

it simple buisness sense. i know whoich i'd prefer to make considering the valuation of both crops

one of the few good things (probably the only good thing) was that they banned this crop and went to extreme lengths to make sure no "peasants" (the taliban probably grow it themselves but i 'm not sure) grow it
