This is massive news for us.....and it's brilliant that our next Dublin show is going to be in The Point (our 3rd gig in there).....and that we'll be playing our first ever gig in Killarney at the INEC (stylish way to say hello!). If you like yer rock'n'roll...get your tickets from www.ticketmaster.ie Here's all the info:
Belfast rock’n’roll band Pay*ola have been confirmed as the support band to British rock legends Status Quo on all of the Irish dates on their forthcoming tour. The shows are as follows:
Tuesday 24th October – Belfast, Odyssey Arena
Wednesday 25th October – Dublin, The Point
Thursday 26th October – Killarney, INEC
Pay*ola, who released their debut album “Try Everything Twice” late last year on new independent UK label Tomcat Records, last supported Quo on their 2002 “Heavy Traffic” tour, striking up a great relationship with Quo’s Rick Parfitt and Rhino Edwards, and winning over Quo’s audience in the process. “It was a dream come true for me to share a stage with Quo” says singer Philip McCarroll “they’re the band that got me into this music in the first place – as a very small child! To get this opportunity again is fantastic”. The band are no strangers to the big stage, having been guests to an eclectic mix of massive acts – from Audioslave to Embrace, Thin Lizzy to Snow Patrol – and recently they did the business for Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes and LA sleaze kings Buckcherry.
Pay*ola are a renowned live act, and give their all to every show they play – regardless of the venue. The Odyssey Arena gig will be their biggest hometown show to date – although they have performed in the Arena six times previously, as entertainment at Belfast Giants games! “Those shows were hard work” remarks Phil “let’s just say we’re more excited about playing to thousands of rock fans than to an ice hockey crowd!”
The boys have recently been in Manor Park studios laying down tracks for a future release, and also have a string of their own headline gigs lined up. Check their new myspace page for all the latest news on the band : www.myspace.com/payolarock
