ONOFF part ways with guitarist
Well, you probably have heard the rumours by now that ONOFF have parted ways with guitarist Justin Byrne. This is indeed true; after 2 and a half years of playing together it was just time to part ways.
Our musical differences and also clashing personalities within the band were seriously affecting the work on our new record and relationships on recent tour dates. This is really sad and unfortunate for us to part ways after such a long time- Justin is a very close friend to us all but through the pressures of intensive touring the relationships between certain members became very strained. Ultimately we had to make this difficult decision in order for the band to progress musically
We met up recently with Justin and talked at length about the band and the difficult decision we were forced to make. Justin is not being replaced- the band will remain a 3 piece for the foreseeable future with live session. Currently, our friend Paul D (ex- underskore) will be playing 2nd guitar/backing vox duties live.
We're currently in the studio recording the new album - without doubt this is the best material we ever recorded. We have also booked our Irish tour dates for the next few months; these will be announced shortly after the launch of the new website.
As a final note, we wholeheartedly wish Justin the best of luck in whatever he chooses to do next musically or otherwise.
