Roisin Dubh, Galway – 21st November
Button Factory, Dublin – 30th November
Tvvins Bio:
As members of prolific Irish bands in the last few years, The Cast Of Cheers and Adebisi Shank, Conor Adams and Lar Kaye still found time recently to get involved or start other projects. Adams with Dave Green as Charmers, a muscular rock project which played their last gig for quite a while in Granby Park over the weekend at Minimum Maximum and Kaye, as both a solo artist and as a member of Sargent House-signed synth-rock heft-merchants No Spill Blood.
The pair obviously have other avenues they want to explore and the outcome is tvvins – a new band which is primarily characterised by synthetic or treated vocals – vocoder, talkbox and Autotune-style effects and production that features the energetic pace of ’80s electro pop and the spirit of anthemic rock of that same era.
‘Two Worlds’ is the band’s first song they’re letting out onto the world ahead of their debut live gig at Hard Working Class Heroes (midnight at Bad Bobs on Saturday October 5th). The song features a kinship with the palette of Justin Vernon when he’s singing on Kanye’s tracks, tropical-leaning guitar pop arrangements, synth stabs and thoroughly live band drums. It’s the B-side of another song coming called ‘You Better’.
