Northside Blues Radio Series

Northside Blues is a three-part series which takes a closer look at the
Blues Music scene on northside Dublin and beyond. In the series listeners

The series also features tall tales of rock n'roll and in studio acoustic sessions from all the bands.
This series will be broadcast for the first time over the festive period. It is funny, engaging and best of all the music is real, raw and played to the highest quality.

Programme 1- Pat Farrell and the Business -Thursday 17th Dec @ 2-3pm
Programme 2 - The Mary Stokes Band - Thursday 24th Dec @ 2 -3pm
Programme 3 - Left Right and Centre - Thursday 31st Dec @ 2-3pm

All programmes will broadcast on 90.3fm and live streaming world-wide on
www.near.ie

This series is funded by the BAI Sound and Vision scheme .
Stay tuned to near 90fm and wwww.near.ie for more!

Sounds good, near always have good stuff like this. I'm hoping that they will broadcast a music show I'm workin that's in pre-production at the moment.

Is this going to be looking at the history of the blues scene at all? Cos ye say we'll hear the stuff and "beyond", I'd like to hear a bit of history on the scene, tbh.

EDIT: btw, that link to the nearfm site, leads to boards.ie

It is not a history of blues as such; more a look at the history of the dublin scene and in particular the bands featured in the programmes. however the bands talk about the history of the blues in a round-about way by describing which american and british blues-smiths influenced them going way back to the 1920's. the essence of all three programmes is the live music we recorded in clontarf yacht club last april alongside some studio acoustic performances - this is peppered with interviews and voxpops.

re: link. thanks for heads up not sure how that happened

hope this works -
