'Ladies and Gentlemen... the high priestess of soul... Ms Nina Simone...'

I am not trying to seduce you
When I dance
they call me Macarena
and the boys they say
que soy buena
they all want me
they can't have me
so they all come
and dance beside me
Move with me
Chant with me
and if your good
I'll take you home with me

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle
alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Hey, Macarena

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle
alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Hey, Macarena

But don't worry about my boyfriend
He's a boy who's name is Vitorino
I don't want him
couldn't stand him
He was no good so I...

Now come on, what was I supposed to do?
He was out of town
and his two friends were sooo fine

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle
alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Hey, Macarena

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle
alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Hey, Macarena

I am not trying to seduce you

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle
alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Hey, Macarena

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle
alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Hey, Macarena

Come and find me,
my name is Macarena
always at the party
con las chicas
que soy buena
come join me,
dance with me
and you fellows
chant along with me.

Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle
alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
Hey, Macarena

I feel the same about Fred Vacation, and she's so pretty too. Lovely blonde hair, growing all down her breasts.

Have you heard of Kevin Weekend? She was alright. Regularly sang a blues version of the American National Anthem. She famously had blues-offs with Leo Monday.

Without intending to start a catfight, Billie Holiday's autobiography is pure deadly. She had so many great turns of phrase. Sassy but not in your face. Highly recommended.

Now, carry on..

Is this Lady Sings The Blues?

Yes, they were the original members of the William Sickdayoffworkwiththeflu's All Girl Choir, singing the popular 20's ragtime songs of David Teabreak. I have the album if you want it.

Cool! I'd like a copy of that. Maybe I'll look for it on Soulseek.
David Teabreak... anything to Lloyd Elevenses?

This thread's gone all funny. Can everybody else see this too or should I ring the systems manager?

that's a deadly book highly recommend it as well.

Love Billie Holiday,
Nina Simone is amazing but gets a bit tiring with all that
black power shit on a lot of the songs... I know it was of the times and
what not.
'here comes the sun' is one of my favourite waking up saturday morning
songs.

I love her version of House of the Rising Sun but my one of my favourite songs ever is Little Girl Blue. It just melts my heart.

Wasn't David T Break in a band with Lydia Lunch back in the late seventies?

There's a fantastic book called 'Strange Fruit' which is a history of the song and it's impact on American society and the lady what sung it and the old jewish guy what wrote it. Wonderful stuff.
