I bought that throw me the statue album the other day. Cant wait to listen to it. The last album was brilliant.

my thoughts are that this new one is better.

and they've just done a video for 'Hi-Fi Goon', which is a deadly song. Been meaning to check out the video but keep forgetting. And feckin youtube won't work for me in work.

New Bruce Gilbert album "oblivio agitatium" on mego editions is kinda disappointing. Heard the closing track on a podcast and thought it was cool so bought the album. Sadly the rest of the album is one long "meh".

Apple's Acre by Nurses.

Nothing too groundbreaking in terms of style. Kind of an Animal Collective feel to it. But way catchier songs. Its horribly catchy in places.

Check out 'Technicolor' and 'Man at Arms' ont their myspace.

They're American (Portland I think). I caught them live over there supporting someone else a couple of weeks ago. Was pretty impressed by them and the album (for me) tends to back up their performance.

Featuring James Plotkin (Khanate, Khlyst, Phantomsmasher, O.L.D.) Aaron Turner (ISIS, Old Man Gloom, Lotus Eaters, House of Low Culture, Greymachine) and Tim Wyskida (Khanate, Blind Idiot God).

Really nice minimilist guitar, drums and voice.

mount eerie- wind's poem.

one of the most outstanding pieces of music i have heard in years. beautifully atmospheric. such a great feel to it. really liking elvrum's venture in this dark stuff. its almost black metal.
cant recommend this enough.

also the new flaming lips LP is fucking delicious. im glad theyve ditched the cutesey protest quirky sound for a more psychedelic feel. feels like wayne coyne is finally taking a backseat and drozd is in the drivers seat. nice.

New to me at least;

A ten-minute take of The Beatles 'Revolution 1'. Take 20. It starts off much like the regular Revolution 1 but morphs into this mind-melting five minute Walrus-meets-Revolution 9 psych outro. Nuts.
