this is not a reality tv show

there is a competition element, two bands in each prog- one goes thorough to the "final"- winner will receive a prize

Just wondering how edited this will be? like I have VERY basic Irish, Hybrid Gaeltacht/newspeak/english type Irish from years ago, Enough to get by with the right amount of editing?

Also, are you looking for any particular type of music or age group etc?

Will this be filmed in Galway?

hi there, atilla

the irish of the "subject" need to be good enough to give an "as live" interview as one of our plans is to do a short i/v with one of the band members as they come off the stage post peformance.

I'm sure you could brush up in the space of a month if needs be.

The performance part of this show will be shot in Belfast
other parts of it will be shot at varying locations around this wonderful rock.

we were on tg4 over the summer as part of the pop show they have. twas great fun altogether, made all the more easier by having a drummer who is fluent in irish

Hey Fergus,
I just got an email about this, and we're very interested in applying, only this email said that one of the requirements was that one of the songs was in Irish! Is this an old set of criteria, or do we actually have to translate a song into Irish if we get on? The irish speaker in our band isn't the lead singer, so it seems that you could be eliminating an awful lot of bands by that rule. If the singer ain't the fluent one then you might struggle to get enought bands. Just wanted to clarify it.
