Cian Nugent

Dear Thumped,
My new album "Doubles" is out now on vhf records on CD and gatefold LP, been in the works for the past few years and is a bit different from previous releases featuring arrangements for a small group including David Lacey, Ailbhe Nic Oireachtaigh, Sean MacErlaine & Bill Blackmore and produced by Jimmy Eadie.
If you'd like to hear one of the two pieces that makes up the album you can do so on the NPR site. Or else there's some excerpts from that piece over on soundcloud
Also, the very talented Dylan Phillips kindly made this video for an excerpt from one of the pieces

You can pick up copies online from the VHF site, Midheaven, Boomcat, or Amazon. Copies will be in Dublin shops from Monday
There's going to be an album release gig in the Button Factory next week with Wooden Wand and Peter Delaney playing also if you are in the locale.
Early praise for Doubles
“Doubles, the first LP by Irish guitarist Cian Nugent, is a major proclamation of new young talent. As ambitious as it is evolved.”
-- Grayson Currin, IFC
“Cian Nugent’s remarkably self-assured new album Doubles is comprised of two side-long tracks that mix acoustic tangents with reverent drone akin to O'Rourke's Happy Days.”
-- Marc Masters, Pitchfork.
“With drums, woodwinds, viola, brass and organ, Sixes & Sevens studies a soul in rapturous torrent.”
-- Lars Gotrich, NPR
Take it sleazy.
