Don't want to go the christening route, so thinking of something along the lines of a naming ceremony.
Has anyone done anything similar?

We had a garden party with all the family and friends during the summer. It was deadly.

We had a family only thing in Herbert Park. Read some poems, said a few words, had a glass of Cava then went for a big family meal. Low on hassle, high on enjoyment.

We had a barbecue in our garden for each of ours. My parents refer to them as "christenings" even though they weren't. They were nice
