we love an ould lie in ireland.

"ireland has one the best education systems in the world" - ha ha ha

the german football federation adopted green as their second strip after ireland were the first team to play them after ww2 - utterly no basis in fact at all.

the indian flag is based on our own tricolour cos we kicked the brits out first. - hokum.

most popular urban myth around ireland:

"my friend's brother's girlfiend's aunt's dog-sitter was walking along the road one night when s/he came across this 'scumbag' couple having a fight.

"yew don't bleeeedin luuuhve me"

"oi dew bleeedin luuuuhve you. sure don't I buy ye chips and don't I roide yew?"

if i hear that story one more time........

(so funny but)

Agreed. Ive even read that one in newspapers, people just cant seem to get over it plus I'm pretty sure its origines lie in the script of a Roddy Doyle film.

freud bollocks quote about psychoanaluising the irish, which we somehow turned into a compliment. "it means we're dreamers hoy ti toy ti too, begorrah"
tossers.

As a child, Pele was given his nickname by an irish missionary priest who saw him play and called him "peile"

I love potatoes too and I sell them as a living!
Interesting fact is the most popular potatoe in Ireland is the Rooster and they are only out about a dozen years.....they just seemed to replace Records which were the previous most popular.

Record=yellow potatoe
Kerr Pinks=white
Rooster=lighter yellow then Record

Also the standard potatoe sized bag was 4 st (25kg) but is now 1 1/2 st (10kg)

Not only is beer used in some cocktails but that wiki doesn't have an 'alcohol' article either.
