my friend's problem... (2 Viewers)

right.
so my friend, eh, morcanzo, and his band, em, the, eh, 'smellorentos' have found that they have been entered into a thing called 'bandwars'.
anyway, its - as the name suggests - a battle of the bands.
as i, and more importantly: my friend, are against this in principle, my friend would prefer not to play.
the studio eh, smellorentos, usually use, the lovely Trackmix, are organising it and i've no reason to doubt it'll be good fun.

problem thus:
band battles suck.
rest of band really wants to play it.

anyway does anyone know about it?
its in its third year now...
can anyone give me useful advice?

There is NOTHING but regret after such a gig.

I 'd only recommend it to a band who can't get any gigs together at all.

I reckon it would be deadly to have a REAL battle of the bands, WWF style. The Thumped alliance could take on evil teams like G*g S*rt. ...And we could all have super hero identities!

There's a small amphitheatre in Maynooth college that could be used for the battle of the bands.
Arm them with rudimentary weapons, gardening tools and minor instruments of war. Then the winners are awarded various trinkets, kudos and the loser's blood mixed with mead in a gold goblet.

the more i ehh..... i mean my friend think about it the more he doesn't want to play. my friend will inform the other members that the idea is shite.
unfortunately, loads o'money has been paid.

i will offer to go 1/4 to buy out my contract....

and i new this smelled of gigsmart. jaysus.
