I'm sure you're all familiar with the Musical Rooms blog...if you're not, then get familiar.

I love the sound of "Tones of Town", so I was really shocked (and inspired) to find out that Field Music recorded their stuff in a 'normal' room with average priced mics...check it out...class.

Jaysis sure did you see them in Whelans a while back? They're scarily good musicians. The kind that make you feel, even though you've been plugging away at it for 10 years, that you are, and always will be, nothing but a talentless insult to the world of music making.

Aye, I got "Sea from Shore" a while back, but haven't worn it in properly yet...its not as instant as the Field Music stuff...but still have to give it a few more spins.

I remember when I first heard how good "Tones of Town" sounded, I thought it must have been done in an expensive studio out in the english countryside by some 70 year old experienced producer like George Martin...so encouraging to know that it could be done in a 'bedroom' studio.
