MPEG-2 Video encoding (1 Viewer)

Not really recording, not really publishing...

OK can anyone recommend a good MPEG2 encoding solution?

I'm using TMPGEnc right now, and it's pretty good - but it's so fucking slow... to get high quality results it's taking 20 minutes to encode a 30 second clip. Which works out at uhhh around about forever to encode enough video to fill a DVD-R...

Any good MPEG2 encoder cards out there?

Anyone?

Not really, no. Blank DVD's were a bit expensive but they're not so bad now.

but i think i need something hardware based & most of the stuff out there is £000's and £000's

how much did the DVD writer set you back? HOw much are blank DVD's now?

dvd writer was about £380 sterling.. blank DVD's can be got for a couple of quid each if you shop around.
