Exquisite folk trio MOUNTAIN MAN are to play an intimate headliner at CRAWDADDY on Friday 2nd July, following the upcoming release in June of their debut album "Made the Harbor".

Contrary to their name, Bella Union's beguiling new signings are not a man, but three enchanting young girls from Vermont, with voices to melt the hardest of hearts. MOUNTAIN MAN’s haunting, harmony-drenched music combines elements of folk, country and traditional Americana, whilst setting up camp alongside the likes of Fleet Foxes and Joanna Newsome.

**Tickets go on sale this Friday 23rd April**

MOUNTAIN MAN are Bella Union’s beguiling new signings for Summer 2010… Contrary to their name, they’re not a man, but three enchanting young girls with voices to melt the hardest of hearts… Sounding both as old as the hills and utterly original, Mountain Man’s haunting, harmony-drenched music combines elements of folk, country and traditional Americana, whilst setting up camp alongside the likes of Fleet Foxes and Joanna Newsome.
Molly Erin Sarle, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig and Amelia Randall Meath (aka Mountain Man) met at Bennington College in Vermont. It wasn’t until Molly visited Bennington during a term off that the seeds of MOUNTAIN MAN were set on the windowsill. At the sound of Molly playing a song in the living room of their shared house, Amelia rushed down the stairs and demanded she teach it her. At this point, Molly and Amelia were not yet friends, but they shared the bond of mutual heartbreak. When Molly came back to Bennington in the spring, Alex and Amelia excitedly sprang into her room, and all three sang together for the first time. Molly and Amelia are still in school, studying Performance and Gender, and Theatre and Performance, respectively. Alex graduated in the spring of 2009 with a degree in Literature and Visual Arts.
The music of Mountain Man is nestled in the tradition of American folk, but shoots like diamond dust into the atmosphere. Their songs are shaped by three searching voices and a shared love of the world. Recorded in an abandoned factory from the early 20th century, each track on “Made the Harbor” evokes the feeling of being in the room with the band as the record plays, and demands intimacy between the music and the listener.

Yay!

Shouldn't this be in a church or something? Or maybe that little subway behind the Leisureplex in Stillorgan.

nor familiar with that subway Kid, am i missing a trick? we'll be throwing a few tables and chairs out and closing the bar in the venue for this show if that makes up for it. tis delicate stuff

Mountain Man live in the subway behind the Leisureplex.

to be fair, if you were looking for a venue in Dublin that resembles that tunnel; Crawdaddy's yer only man. (The Vaults in Connoly Station coming a distant second)
