MORMONS/QUAKERS ON SABBATICAL WITH THE RODIGY
At Lazybird this Sunday, a Rollers/Sparkers sabbatical sub-committee called Mormons/Quakers will do battle on a cosmic scale
with the forces of nothingness and despair. Mormons/Quakers will also herald the arrival of their collaborative archangel on the side of righteousness, theocratic agit-prop fear technician The Rodigy, who will issue forth missives of horror and dread using nothing more than the top of his lap.
The night will feature previously unheard material, much of it unheard even by the band themselves. This uncanny feat of charismatic projection will be achieved with the aid of a conduit specially licensed from the Seraphim, and some or all of the following earthly instruments:
- CEREBELLUM
- EUSTACHIAN TUBE
- ABDUCTOR DIGITI MINIMI
Lazybird is located upstairs at The International Bar on Wicklow Street, Dublin. An oblation of 3 punts is requested in exchange for entry. Mormons/Quakers and The Rodigy will take to the stage around 9.30pm, although tri-punters can gain access to the venue at 8pm.
ABOUT THE RODIGY
Semi-Scottish yet based in Cabra, The Rodigy is that rare thing: a boy with glasses who plays rough. Delving deep into the primal collective unconscious for traces of spilt Czech beer and rubber solution, The Rodigy taps into whatever-it-is-that-frightens-us-away-from-whatever-it-is-that-we-might-become-were-we-not-stricken-with-fear-by-The-Rodigy. He then performs remedial surgery by means of precise techniques garnered from the world of professional cycling, grafting rubber patches from the dialogue of heaven and hell onto the leaky, hissing punctures in the human soul.

Rollers/Sparkers care not a whit for the stodge of being. As the wolf with the lamb on the days of last things, their allegiances lie with the vicissitudes of becoming, favouring chance meetings with the Messiah down the boozer over the doctrinal tug at the shroud of existence. Just this once, however, Rollers/Sparkers will enter the arena of metaphysical dispute and under the auspices of Mormons/Quakers will embark on a Sunday drive at the seaside of cosmic unrest.
