Another fantastic Scottish group will be playing for us here at Me and My Korg. Wednesday the 27th February will see The Low Miffs grace our little stage in Kennedy's Underground.
“One of Scotland’s best new bands” – Newsnight
The Low Miffs are as yet unsigned but are currently recording with the legendary Malcolm Ross, formerly of Josef K. So its no wonder that there sound is influenced by all the great Scottish post punk bands. The music is a sprightly, jumpy indie-pop with plenty of pep and hook.
They’re one of those groups that lurch in and out of rhythms in a moment, incorporating rock ‘n’ roll and pure indie pop. The sound is embellished by saxophones and synths but the punchy guitar rhythms tend to dominate.
Although they are all music students in Scotland, the music is never heavy handed, they understand like few others the excellence of British pop.
"We would rather get sent to Guantanamo Bay than become a prog rock band" - The Low Miffs
Support on the night comes from hip/hop/electro/drunken dj collective Drag Queen Bingo
