SEVERED HEAD OF STATE
POWER HAZARD
Severed Head of State return with nine punishing new tracks. Hard driving riffs and angry vocals give this release a real fist pumping intensity. A lot of the songs are more mid tempo in the tradition of mid period Poison Idea and other hardcore punk bands that took some cues from Motorhead.
VICTIMS
DIVIDE AND CONQUER
Third full length from Sweden's Victims. This is one of my favorite bands of recent years because they flawlessly mix my two favorite styles of music, Early 80's American Hadcore and Swedish Crust. This record rises to the challenge of mixing two such potent styles with great vigor.
Skitsystem - Allt E Skit LP 2004
Finally available on vinyl this release compiles all the out of print early Skitsystem material. This is the vinyl version of the CD released on Distortion. The essential early recordings from 1995-1998 are here, the Profithysteri 7", split 7" with Wolfpack and the Ondskans Askinte 10". These are the most raw and brutal Skitsystem recordings in the classic 80's Swedish hardcore tradition of Anti Cimex, Crude SS, Asocial and Avskum with just a hint of black/death metal influence.
WOLFBRIGADE
A D-BEAT ODYSSEY
Raging Scandinavian Hardcore steamroller. Down-tuned crust-core blasts with a hint of the melody of early Swedish punk and classic Swedish Death Metal. This was originally planned to be a tour 7" for Wolfbrigade's 2004 US tour.
RESTARTS
SYSTEM ERROR
The Restarts are a long running London punk band with several 7"s and an LP already to their credit. This LP sees them taking a hard hitting melodic approach with 12 catchy punk anthems. The Restarts sound is akin to traditional UK punk favorites like early Anti Pasti or a rougher version of the Ruts.
SKITSYSTEM
ENKEL RESA TILL RANNSTENEN
This second full-length follows up on the head crushing sounds of their first LP Gra Varld Svarta Tankar. This is a scathing steamroller of pure Scandinavian hardcore power. Combine the raw thrashing power of early 80's bands like Anti-Cimex, Asocial, Crude SS and Crudity with the ferocity and anger of modern day crust core with some brutal production by Mieszko of Nasum and you begin to feel the weight of the power of Skitsystem.
