It was a good time, lots of art and graffiti. The Connoly statue and jolly roger were deadly! Strange how the pigs were very strict with searching people going in, yet they made no attempts to arrest any of the blatant drinkers. I didn't know Willy's a DJ! Dysfunctional were great and it was really nice that the sun shone a little towards the end. Really wish I could go to the summit at Gleneagles.

Yeah fairplay to everyone who was involved in organising it, i reckon it went really well and i def had a good time.
Masking Connolloy up was class, didn't really like the writing though, even though it was only chalk...tut, tut

Who is that handsome devil?

Have to say I was dissapointed with the turnout. Seems the cops used their 'shit-weather-making' machine on us too. Good to hear people had a good time tho. Makes it all worth it.

Yeh it was a good day, if not slightly uneventful.
But it's always worth it to see people getting together, havving fun, dancing in the streets.
A bigger turn out would have been nice, but at least it happened!
Weather didn't bring it down, the rain added to the atmosphere!! (But that's probably just more hippy nonsense from me hehe)
Got some good photos.
Well done to everyone who organised it :)

WTF!!!!?????? That was seriously out of order, I would have had a mickey fit if I'd seen anyone in person doing that no matter how young they were....

Yeah let's get these fuckheads!

Exactly, fucking childish in the extreme; If you don't realise just how offensive it is to deface James Connolly's statue (of all people!) you've got no business claiming any sort of left leaning political credentials.

Meself and city baby will be on hand to dish out 'clips round the ear' and Irish working class history flyers at any more of these kind of impromptu hootenenies.....

get over it, gramps.

I was kidding.. are you kidding? I hope you're kidding..

A statue is a statue and chalk washes off in the rain.

It's a respect issue imo. I would have been genuinely offended had I been there in person and I would have been mortified to think I was associated with anyone who would graffito that statue.

It's just my own feeling on statues per se. I think it's really counter-productive to interfere with a public monument.

I'm not all that bothered myself about it but I can see why some people might be annoyed by the tags (which may I add were shit. Fuckin toys..) on the wall BEHIND the statue done with paint marker. I think if anything it's a clear example of how shit JC/LC History is. I mean I know all about Prussia and the Bolshavics, but Connolly? Was he some socialist or something?:p

It would also seem that people who were there and annoyed by it decided to hold off going over to the kids and telling them the significance of what the statue represents and instead bitch fanaticly about it on the net. viva le indymedia!!
