MARVINS REVOLT are from Copenhagen, Denmark. They make angular and catchy tunes. Hard hitting rhythms combined with joyful and romantic melodies creates an ever changing, but always meaningful musical landscape. The songs appear as intense, challenging and melodic structures, with disregard for songwriting rules. They are returning to Cork after an eighteen month absence. The current tour is in support of their new record.
A show not to missed!

Reviews of the new album “Patrolling the Heights”:

MR_PtH_top003-1.jpg

"...a stunning example of both virtuosity and clever composition...amazing, and amazingly consistent...."
– All Music Guide

“Third time's the charm. Marvins Revolt strickes a perfect bulls eye…”
- Soundvenue (DK)

“…The underground reaches new heights…”
- Ekstra Bladet (DK)

“Marvins Revolt gives us songs to dance to, to sing along to, to think about life to and to make us happy - its pure great music that reveals new fun elements day by day…”
- Oneinabillion (DE)

"Patrolling The Heights" is in fact a rock album in the best sense: dense and powerful sound with the right mix of melody and a bit of a noisy approach... ...Modern, innovative and highly frictional rock. As simple as it can sometimes be.”
- Life Sounds Real (DE)

“The highlights nearly stumble on top of each other...”
- Metroxpress (DK)

“Pretentious, but not pompous; intelligent, yet intense; pop, yet progressive. In fact, this is the kind of band all those Mew apologists should be digging... ...All you people should be digging this band, the indie rockers, the math rockers, the emos, the post-hardcore crowd.”
- Lowcut (DK)

recent bio from danish label playrec.dk

"The three restless gentlemen of Marvins Revolt have reinvented themselves yet again. Time after time they have shaken up their act erased the hard drive, burned their bridges and taken to new lands, placing themselves where the footing is bound to be less than sure.

It is from this starting point that Marvins Revolt creates a music that is, in lack of a better term; rock, yet something brand new.
November 2nd 2009 is the release date for the third album by Marvins Revolt: Patrolling The Heights. Marvins Revolt debuted as a quartet in 2006 with the noise rock-esque album ”Fell In Love With Tanks And Satellites”. By 2007 came ”Killec”, a rebirth for the band. Not only had they been numerically reduced to a trio. Simultaneously they hadtaken a musical quantum leap towards a complex indie pop marked bycatchy vocal harmonies, synth-hooks and rhythmic contortions.

At the same time Marvins Revolt took an international leap embarking on a series of virtually endless tours all over Europe, even making it all the way to Japan. Rumours of the awe-inspiringly tight live act began to spread and the band signed with a number of international indie labels.
Now the band returns to live stages all over the world sporting their follow-up album ”Patrolling the Heights”. Marvins Revolt have shifted focus from angular rhythmic antics to a more elegantly finished songwriting, albeit mediated through a raw, analog soundscape. However Marvins Revolt are still frighteningly tight, catchy and
melodic – and their lust for further adventures remains very much intact.

”Patrolling the Heights” was recorded in Sauna Studios, Copenhagen, in cooperation with the American producer
T.J. Lipple, whose merits include working with bands such as Medications, MGMT and his own band Aloha. The release will be followed by a 6-week tour that takes the band through most corners of Europe. In the beginning of 2010 the band will also visit Japan once again.

The album will be released in Scandinavia and Germany by Copenhagen based Play/Rec, home of among others; Barra Head and Lack. Simultaneously the album will be released by Richer Collective in Ireland and UK, Parabolica in Japan and HipHipHip in France.
