Is this for projection?
why not get high-res TIFF scans of the negs and project digitally?

I have no clue about converting neg to slide. The idea scares me.

theres a shop in talbot st which sells the more old fashioned type

accurate, and usable for most basic non-studio malarkey. I got one a year or so for about 70 snots and its served me well.
 
better off with an ambient lightmeter.
they're very reasonable too, just ask in gunn's.
dunno exactly how much, mine was a present.
 
yeah ambient all the way.
or better yet. an ambient meter with a built in spot meter.
an expensive but hugely handy piece of equiptment.
i wouldnt use it for stills as much though. ( id be more use to using meters for film stuff)
