i'm afraid to use my college computer for torrents - when i used soulseek a guy from ISS came round to the office and told me to stop. can they see if you're using torrents?

Yeah, they can see instantly that your using them. They're totally blocked here. I use newsgroups over port 80, so it looks like it's regular web traffic. Though anyone actually looking at the logs can see that 20 odd GB of web traffic to one computer is obviously dodgy. Luckily my laptop isn't registered so they have no idea who it is.
