Les Savy Fav Reveal New Album Details!

Guests include Devendra, Eleanor Friedberger, Emily Haines, Enon, Fred Armisen

Making good on a nearly year-old promise, Les Savy Fav have announced the title and release date of their forthcoming totally real and brand spanking new record. Due out September 18 via Frenchkiss, the album is called Let's Stay Friends, and you can hear its second track-- "The Equestrian"-- if you revisit that Adult Swim compilation we mentioned a couple months ago.
Friends' tracklist is below, and it does indeed feature one of the previously reported songs with literally phoned-in fan vocal contributions. Originally titled "Resent the Rent", it appears on the album as "Scotchguard the Credit Card". Devendra Banhart also contributed vocals via phone, and the record's other guests include Enon, Eleanor Friedberger (Fiery Furnaces), Nick Thorburn (Islands), Emily Haines (Metric), Joe Plummer (Black Heart Procession), and Fred Armisen.
The Fav remain tourless at the moment, but they do have a single live appearance scheduled for this weekend in New York City at the Citysol festival. [MORE...]

excellent.about bloody time too.guest appearances all look tasty.might turn out to be a less punk affair though given the line-up?

anyone heard this yet?

the songs on myspace are pretty good.perhaps not as good as i was expecting but i'll give them time.

but it appears they are taking a leaf out of deerhoof's book and releasing the album in the states way before it comes out here! do they just want everyone in europe to steal it off the internet??

In other Les Savy Fav news, they've recently signed to the London-based Wichita recording concern for all their UK distribution needs. Their chum-heavy Let's Stay Friends will drop in the UK October 1; it's out September 18 on French Kiss in the States.
