LE COOL DUBLIN
new online, culture and entertainment, guide for the city LAUNCHES MAY 14th
Le Cool, Europe’s leading alternative city guide, is pleased to announce that on Thursday May 14th, Dublin will join the ranks of Barcelona, Madrid, London, Lisbon, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Milan and Rome in having its own weekly edition.
Le Cool is a free weekly magazine, delivered direct to your inbox, featuring a selection of the best cultural and entertainment events the capital has to offer and can be received by subscribing online with your e-mail address at www.lecool.com/dublin
Originally founded in 2003 by Swedish publisher René Lönngren, Le Cool now reaches over 210,000 people every week across Europe and has expanded to offer city guide books also. Commenting on the decision to start a Dublin edition, editor Ciaran Walsh said, “I think it is relevant to Dublin now more than ever. We are seeing the emergence of a DIY culture whereby people are choosing to stamp their own creative claim on the city. The availability of spaces, which were previously considered out of bounds, makes it all the more challenging.
“Le Cool is both a celebration of the best Dublin has to offer and a call to action in itself. We select between 15 to 20 events every week that we truly believe will allow people to think of more options than just going to the pub. We want to help people find positive and unique experiences in our great city.
“These can cover everything from flea markets, table quizzes, talks, gigs, exhibitions, recitals, fashion, parties, collectives, festivals and whatever our subscribers alert us to,” he added.
“I guess our simple maxim is'we write about what we like and we like what we write about' and the measure of our success is whether people think they would recommend Le Cool to their friend,” said Walsh.
Each week Le Cool will profile the work of a graphic designer, photographer or illustrator along with an interview with someone who is making a contribution towards Dublin being a more cosmopolitan and exciting place to live in.
