i handed in my notice in work a few days ago, i really wasnt enjoying it, super stressfull as i sometimes have to work with young people in really awful situations but it was killing me.my manager is really cool about it, upset to see me leave, always welcome back, is there anything they can do to change my mind shit like that.
i just couldnt take smiling and being happy for the kids all the time as most of them are well. . . you know those sky1 tv shows that have cctv of groups of scary kids, thats what mine are like sometimes.
back to my point, i told my family about it and they flipped, dont think i really came accross the greatest when i explained i gave up a job with shit loads of benifits, great pay etc cos id love to work in a little book shop or coffee shop somewhere. there's also the fact that kids arent cheep and my one def isnt, but is she not better off having a parent thats happy and less shiny things or a misreable mum and more crap. my manager was asking me again today if i was sure i wont to leave. so not sure if i should just stay there even if i hate it or leave? any words of wisdom would be great, also sorry for rambling on!!!

im sure its not but dont think i can take another kid i work withs funeral (ok there's only been a few but still)
also, and i know this is a stupid complaint after that one but i do cooking classes with them and they all have their hands inside their pants all the freakin time (the girls not so much), ive seen them switch hands to ans their phone, then i have to eat the food they cooked and handed to me, cant say no as it'll fuck their confidence

yea, and its never just one of them, its groups of them all with their hands down their pants, do they constintly need to check they're still there. i may have possibly made the sugestion that the people i work with all do it in front of them to show how minging it looks, as i work with nearly all womenit didnt go down too well. i thought it was funny tho

sounds like you work in a pretty difficult field and there's absolutely no reason to feel like you have to continue if it's doing your head in. if you can afford to take a pay cut or some time to re-think what you're doing then by all means go for it. sounds pretty brave and it's a truism that we all make our own luck... nothing ventured nothing gained etc etc
but nothing's gonna change if you don't let it

if you work in social care... which I think you do, there's nicer jobs than that. My point is you dont have to completely change industry. It's all transferrable skills and maybe its just the particular client group you work with that causes the stress.

yea you're prob right, they're a pretty hard group at the best of time. em also that whole stopping them having sex part sounded wierd, i dont stand in the middle giving out or anything, that'd be rough
