Any fans in the haus?
Reading "Slouching towards Bethlehem to be born" at the moment. Completely blown away by the style of the writing, and the fact that she was so young when she wrote most of the essays in it. Reminds me a little of a leaner Martin Amis.
Also notable for: The most dignified public expression of grief I can remember (see the observer a couple of weeks ago)

I just picked up her book Salvador. Haven't started it yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Flicking through it, it seems of a similar vain to what's his face, Ryszard Kapuscinski. Reading The Emperor at the moment. Mesmerising stuff.
 
Her piece on keeping a notebook. Jaw-droppingly good. I need to get the white album, I think.
