Those of you who heard the amazing This American Life with the bit about the Lee Middleton dolls, if you're dumb like me, then maybe you'll have been dumb enough to look up what those fucking things are.

I don't really know what to say, except that I think it's now clear what Dick Cheney is made from.

Most of them look really depressed, but they aren't. Together with the ones who are sleeping peacefully, they are conserving energy for the day they invade. One morning we will see them franken-toddler stomping, crawling, and cruising over the horizon, the big ones pushing the small ones, the bigger ones staying upright by holding onto stuff as they march toward our destruction.

You can even order ones that come with spines, beating hearts, and 'squishy tummies'.

You think that's scary, check this shit out:

Don't even try searching for them on eBay. You'll never be okay again.

there was a programme on channel 4 about people into them last year. There might have been a thread about it somewhere on here.

Anyway, I still don't know how to react to these things, it's all so weird.

It's gonna be Baby Westworld.

Fucking hell.

I'm also learning that until now I have been sheltered from this phenomenon, which most people already knew about.

I'm frightened.

BTW, the third segment of the This American Life called 'Matchmakers' is one of the funniest things I've ever heard in my whole life.

Seen that channel 4 programme about them. The breathing things you can get for them freak me out a lot.

I dunno, empty nest syndrome? Get a fucking puppy or something.

didnt mongrel publish a photo essay about this at one point??

They advertise similar realistic baby dolls in the backs of crappy TV magazines sometimes. I always thought they were taking advantage of people who had just had miscarriages. It's horrible and freaks me out, and I like creepy dolls. Not these ones obviously.

in answer to you question: yes. yes there are things scarier than moulded plastic.

i hope this has helped, feel free to mail my department for a list of really scary things.

I saw that MY FAKE BABY documentry - it was very creepy kinda sad but mosty creepy.

It might be nice to have one though you could prop on a bar when you order a pint or let fall from yer arms when running for a bus,..

You should definitely listen to the third segment of this:

You can download it for free for a couple more days.

Poor baby Nubbins!

Oh yeah, and John Waters (filmmaker, not Irish misanthropist) has a reborn baby called Oscar. One year he sent out a Christmas card that was a portrait of him and his reborn.

Hahaha priceless - I think it was funnier but i don't believe in the adoption by gays of fake babies.
