... that achieves the lovely quality of these photographs, obviously its really good lighting... do you reckon subtle flash was used? I am fed up for the most part of colour in my pics. Would love to get such beautiful tones as this guy

Is this just really good lighting?

Anyone who's good at figuring out what people did ?

I know there are loads of other shots I can't think of now that I've wondered the same.

Pretty certain flash was used in all of them, then really good lenses/cameras and obviously good camera skills.

The first one definitely some post processing maybe there was a window either side for light, second one not so sure maybe some off camera flash.
Denis Hopper (love the lighting in this one) definitely proper studio setup

I woulda said natural light in the first and second. Loads of post in that first one, probably loads of levels. It's a bit too contrasty for me, looks like there was a lot of sharpening done too, some of it looks a little blurry-but-sharpened.

Cheers guys, the first two were one example out of a photo-story, so the questions wasn't so mucha bout specific photos more than the whole sets as they have a consistent quality in terms of colours and lighting.

I'm with you on the contrasty-ness of the first one though.
