ok, so i was looking through a load of old photo cds and came across these ones below that i took in barcelona in the summer of 2004. thought it'd be nice to start a thread about photographic documentation of deadly and inspiring stuff people have found/stumbled across/was part of/etc.
they are of a squatted playground in the centre of barcelona right beside the arc de triomphe. it's on the grounds of an old apartment building that had been demolished and was awaiting redevelopment by the big-wigs. but the local squatters and the rest of the community said fuck that.
the squatters took down all the barriers, lifted all the rubble away, and made a vegetable patch, climbing frame, benches, etc.
every time the developers and the council put the barriers back up the locals just took them down again. it was great walking around it and thinking about how it was created. a really cool space, hope it's still there. .|..|
