If you could change/improve any aspect of Irish society what would it be? (1 Viewer)

em. http://www.designcouncil.info/mt/RED/transformationdesign/

There are experiments in many areas of the public sector in the UK where local councils, Dept of education, divisions of the NHS etc are employing designers to shape policy and policy mechanisms. They feel that designer add an extra dimension to understanding the delivery of public services. This is the basis of transformation design.

for example, a service design comany I know http://www.enginegroup.co.uk/ have worked with organisations such as Demos in the area of public service delivery. they then inform policy makers....

Ireland could learn a lot from this.
too many words to be sneaking a look at in work

gimme a concrete example

edit: ok i skipped to page 12 of their poxy document. here's an innovative design idea for RED - cut out the bullshit and put an overview at the start of the document. nobody wants to wade through 12 pages of crap to find out what it is they're actually reading about.

See, that's just pure civilised. Wonderful.

Yeah it is, but .... note the "in the job I have" ... I presume that means it's a perk of the company that Flashback works for. Not something provided by the government/state/whatever and available to everyone .... or am I wrong?

If your bus decides not to turn up, it automatically becomes a treasure hunt where stranded commuters have to search for the errant bus. The person that finds the bus gets to keep it. The runner up gets to keep the driver.

That's what I thought of while I waited for the bus that didn't come....
