haven't seen him in a couple of months. used to drop him to get his sunday dinner in some oldies place. he was pretty much deaf so he'd just go on about how he was an alcoholic all his life and his kids hate him. always asking what day it was, his "mind was gone since the wife died". his knees were fucked too.

either that or he's just decided to get his house re-roofed and sky digital installed. oh and get someone to lock his house from the outside with all the lights off.

i hope he's not dead or in one of those dodgy homes

Call in to say you're here to bring him down for his Sunday lunch and ask to use the jacks. Then have a good sniff around the gaff, like they do in all the cop shows.

he calls in to me, changing the routine would just confuse me at my age

you know that episode of seinfeld where george and jerry help old people?
it was nothing like that. it was just kind of depressing.

that story has made me :(

i lived in this one 6-storey walk up in HK and used to see this AAAAAAAAAANCIENT dude who lived the floor below us slowly, slowly walking up teh stairs. i used to help him with his bags, etc but he spoke no english. then we got a notice the building was getting demolished, so me and B moved out. i never saw the little old man again (and no, he didnt get buried in rubble - the demolition is still delayed).

he waslked so slowly that i could leave my flat at the same time as him, go downhill to the 7/11, browse through a magazine, buy an ice lolly, heave myself up the hill and be back in my flat before he was half way down the stairs.

:(!!!!!!!!!
