Blurbs:
HOSTILE COMBOVER
Born of the same storied San Diego post-hardcore tradition that birthed the likes of Tourettes Lautrec and American Ligature before them, Hostile Combover is a meeting of the guitars and vocals of John Cota (City of Whores, American Ligature, Congress of the Cow, twenty-first century lepers) and Cole "THE SON OF INDY RACE CAR LEGEND: RICK MEARS" Mears (American Ligature, Freedom for Saturn), backed by the drum work of Ben Johnson (Tourettes Lautrec and The Long and Short of it). In the amalgam, Hostile Combover exhumes a dense yet tuneful foundation reminiscent of Unwound, shot through with Drive Like Jehu-esque instances of incisive staccato. These are songs rife with confounding changes that leave you reeling, only to set you up for an ensuing slug to the gut. Ben Johnsons syncopated beats lead a corridor with many turns and stop signs, wildly setting up breakdowns and changes that stun like a pickpocket. Cota and Mears overlapping vocals are by turns screamed, squalled, shouted a secondary battle only to whats going on in their hands: sparing guitars evoking influences of Fugazi. In their inceptive shows Hostile Combover has been laying it down on San Diego stages, garnering apt praise for their uncompromising performance.
RAZOR CAKE REVIEW:
HOSTILE COMBOVER:Storklord: This San Diego three-piece band is a bombastic blend. Imagine early Amphetamine Reptile bands, like the Cows meets Fugazi or Nation Of Ulysses on a bus that Drive Like Jehu is steering off a cliff. Intense with the loudness the early underground 90s perfected. For reference, a hostile combover is what you get when you mess with indigenous peoples land, i.e. the Native Americans. Aint No Joke, brother, as these guys say. This seven song gem was recorded by Gar Wood of Hot Snakes. Definitely worth seeking out. (Self-released)

CRUMB
Crumb got together in Dublin in 2004 with no great plan in mind except to play back to basics short indie guitar pop tunes.
Containing former members of Hey Paulette, The Sewing Room and Mexican Pets in their ranks, Crumb released their debut album 'evenings & weekends' in 2005 and have received rave reviews to-date.

'This album is full of quality pop songs, from beginning to end' - 10/10 Indiepages
'Guitar pop tour de force' - The Irish Times
‘A debut album dripping with melody and sunshine' - Pennyblack Music
'Instantly likeable' - RTE.ie Entertainment
'Evenings and Weekends is the perfect choice for anyone seeking a soundtrack for a lazy summer' - Eclectic Honey
'There isn't a weak track here' - Hotpress
'Concise, crisp exciting up there with prime Smiths, Go-Betweens and early REM' - Leagues O' Toole Foggy Notions/Today FM

Yes, it's on, great reports coming from Cork on Sunday and Limerick last night...

Moloch will be on approximately 9.45pm or 10pm... long after the match is over.
