you're gonna hate me

ner! ner! ner!

BEST GUITAR SOLOS!!

Marc Ribot: Rain Dogs

Weezer: Burndt Jamb or Fall Together (FT probably better)

Zep: Communication Breakdown (comes in from the left and moves to the centre like Page is running on stage)

Frank Zappa: hmm, pick any, maybe Black Napkins

Thurston Moore and Lee Renaldo: Dirty Boots (not strictly a solo but the whole song is all boingy and woogy and cool)

Elvis Costello: I Want You (just one note, but what a note)

Joe Satriani can kiss my hairy arse

Settle for Nothing, Freedom and Take the power back..Rage against the machine. Tom morello is an under rated guitar innovator and genius if you ask me.

Alone..Dinosaur Jr.

Feel good hit of the summer - Queens of the stone age

Them bones - Alice in Chains

Waiting for a coconut to drop - Brant Bjork

james honeyman scott on lovers of today by the pretenders...
and the guitar break on sunken treasure by wilco.
none of yer satriani bollix, mate.

Marc Ribot: Rain Dogs - absolutely!!

The solo at the end of "Instant street", that grrreat song by Deus. It's all off notes yet melodic.

Neil young on "sothern man" or another one of his fucked-up noisy bits

Ry cooder solo playing the Bix Beiderbeck tune "Flashes" - omigod (but that's really a jazz piece)

Costello played a lot more than one note for "I want you" in the concert hall...on a big green jazz gibson guitar...it was very very moistening.

yeah, right. i mean, YEAH, right.

it's spelt raquet.

mmm either Over The Wall by Testament or Watch The Children Pray by Metal Church

no, really.

all the solos on marquee moon. guitar solos became redundant after that record, no-one has bettered them.

and yes, i despise dinosaur jerkoff

I'd a thought you'd say something by Brian May, Dudley

Actually Bicycle Race is a brilliant guitar solo, it's cartoon-y. All falling anvils and cliffs and rubber bands that stretch for miles.

Wilco - I'm the man who loves you - also has a great guitar solo

you, sir, are going to hell.

brian may is my guitar god.

brighton rock = genius
sheer heart attack = genius
it's late = genius
ogre battle = genius
all dead = fucking genius

even princes of the universe is pretty great

you know he got his sound from converting a garage in abbey road, lining all 4 walls with cab's and placing *one* microphone in the middle of the room? fucking genius

yep brian may. i met him outside the shelbourne years ago and nearly pissed myself

his solo epic on prophet's song (off night at the opera) is the best ever. ever. ever. ever

"everyone's got one"
There's a solo in that?

While away on holiday we were driving my parents around a fair bit and I thought they were getting quite sick of Motley Crue so i bought Queen's hits album to play in the car. The guitar playing is FUCKING G E N I U S!!. I feel so ashamed, it's 2002.

Best solo though: easy, Eruption by Eddie Van Halen.

:)

my favourite solo would be Confetti by the Lemonheads

its not fast or flash, just quite nice and fits the song really well.

or maybe the solo in Witchita Lineman...

All over the world by the Pixies, theres a few *rippin* solo bits in that two
