Heineken Green Synergy returns to the capital next week (Wednesday 10th – Sunday 14th October) with an exciting mix of established and emerging international artists performing in Dublin's finest venues over five days.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 10th
DAN LE SAC vs SCROOBIUS PIP - The Village
support SCARY EIRE
Producer Dan Le Sac and vocalist/evangelist Scroobius Pip deliver a series of witty and shockingly spot-on decrees underpinned by mesmeric electro blessed beats. They make their Irish debut at the Electric Picnic. Scary Eire are the original Irish B-boys.

LIGHTSPEED CHAMPION in WHELANS (Debut)
support: Eugene McGuinness, Pinky
Ex-Test Icicle Dev Hynes aka Lightspeed Champion has just released his debut single 'Galaxy of the Lost' on Domino Records. The result is a semi-acoustic, country-rock and folk-pop sound, which will surprise anyone who remembers Dev from his heavier Test Icicles days. This show will afford Irish fans to hear the fruits of his solo efforts and debut album which will be released later this year.

ASHLEY BEEDLE in SOLAS (free)
support: Stereotonic DJs
DJ and record producer. Beedle's music box interests vary from reggae, soul music to techno and jazz. Beedle's first big musical project, Black Science Orchestra, reworked old disco songs into house tracks which quickly turned up in the record boxes of American DJ's such as Frankie Knuckles and Masters At Work.

Alex Patterson is the UK ambient house prodigy and member of The Orb

FUTUREHEADS DJ SET IN CARNIVAL (free)
support: Antics DJs
The Sunderland indie rockers return to Dublin in DJ mode. Expect influences such as Fugazi, The Jam and XTC to be mixed with the latest sounds around.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 11th

ALABAMA 3 in TRIPOD
support: Republic of Loose
Hot off the heels of their sold out Tripod show this summer, Alabama 3 return with their classic hits and fresh sonic slices from their new album M.O.R. Alabama 3 have been called, amongst other things, "the best live band in Britain." Their music has graced everything from The Sopranos to The Simpsons, and celebrity fans include Irvine Welsh and the world's biggest selling author, Stephen King.

THOMAS DOLBY at Whelans
support: Black Affair (feat Steve Mason of The Beta Band)
support 2: Neosupervital
English musician, producer and inventor Dolby is one of the kings of synthpop. He has appeared at Grammy ceremonies along with Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock, fellow keyboard and synthesizer experts. He played his first solo performance in 25 years earlier this year.
Supporting Dolby is Black Affair, the new project of former Beta Band frontman Steve Mason - who will be giving a preview of his debut album out on V2 in early 2008. He'll be dishing out "retro beatbox electro and synth pop, slightly spacey, slightly disco, sometimes seedy, generally fun." That's what the man says!

AIM DJ SET in SOLAS (free)

Aim (Andy Turner) is a British musician, DJ. Last seen here in The Village with his band, Aim's sound is a blend of funky electronic music and hip hop beats, a sound which typified the Grand Central Records label which Mark Rae signed him to. Andy formed his own label ATIC Records in 2005 releasing 'Flight 602' last autumn.


DON LETTS DUB CARTEL in ANSEO (free)

Even before co-founding the group Big Audio Dynamite, along with The Clash's Mick Jones, Don Letts gained notoriety in the late '70s as the DJ that single handedly turned a whole generation of punks onto reggae. Don Letts' reputation has been firmly established in both the film and music world, by a substantial body of work earning him a Grammy on the way in 2003 for his documentary 'Westway To The World'. As the 'Dub Cartel Sound System' he has performed DJ sets for The Rough Trade 25th Anniversary, Jarvis Cocker's Desperate Sound System, Trojan, Lee Perry's Meltdown, Glastonbury 2003/4 and Stussy's 25th anniversary.


FRIDAY OCTOBER 12th

ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION (full live show) in TRIPOD

Stalwarts of the British alternative scene, Asian Dub Foundation (ADF) bring their soundsystem to Tripod. Playing their cornucopia live mix of Hip-Hop, House, Drum & Bass, breakbeat, dub, dancehall and raga. Please note this a the full live show with 12 piece band as opposed to the 3 piece ADF Soundsystem that has played in Dublin regularly over the past few years.

THE HERBALISER (10 piece band) in THE VILLAGE

The Ninja Tunes jazz and hip hop outfit who describe their sound as 'James Brown meets James Bond' take to the stage in The Village for their first show here since their lauded 2005 Electric Picnic appearance. Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba straddle the hip-hop, funk and jazz breaks with expert ease.

MALA (DIGITAL MYSTIKZ) in CARNIVAL (free)

Digital Mystikz, comprised of DJ/producers Coki and Mala, are at the forefront of London's dubstep sound, leading the way with their own unique brand of dubbed out London sounds. Both derived of jungle, dub reggae and garage yet brand new, the sound had emerged from London and spread a love of sub bass, skankin riddims and mystical melodies across the world.

THE FLAWS + HAM SANDWICH at Whelans

Fresh from releasing their debut LP 'Achieving Vagueness', The Flaws have had murmurs of Irish album of the year from the Times and Indo. Releasing the album on their own label 'Arrival Records', The Flaws represent the new wave of D.I.Y. Irish bands.
Ham Sandwich fronted by Podge McNamee and Niamh Farrell have cut their cloth as a sterling underground treasure with an almost cult like following the likes of Weezer or early Flaming Lips.


LUCIANO & DAN GHENACIA in TRIPOD (Debut & late show)

Chilean born DJ Luciano is arguably the hottest techno DJ to emerge in recent years. With his groovy and minimal beats, Luciano blends deep techno and electro infused with latin rhythms and colorful patterns in sound.

TURIN BRAKES in TRIPOD

Mercury Music nominees for their debut 'The Optimist', Turin Brakes (Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian) return in the autumn with their fourth album 'Dark On Fire' which has been produced by Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Ray LaMontagne).

ARCHIE BRONSON OUTFIT in THE VILLAGE

Folk rock, psychedelic and punk act who proved one of the discoveries of the Electric Picnic in 2006, the Archie Bronson Outfit were discovered by Laurence Bell, boss of Domino Records. With two albums, Fur and Derdang Derdang, under their belt the Archie Bronson Outfit teeter on the brink of a massive breakthrough picking up accolades such as the South Bank/Times Breakthrough Award this year and figuring in many end of year polls for Derdang Derdang.

THE GLADIATORS in WHELANS
support – Unite Tribe

Following in the footsteps of the debut of The Congos at Heineken Green Synergy last year come Jamaican roots reggae act The Gladiators. Formed in 1968, their hits include 'Hello Carol', 'Freedom Train', 'Rock a Man Soul,' and 'The Race'. In 1976, the Gladiators signed with Virgin Records in Britain, and began work on their label debut with producer Prince Tony Robinson.

BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE presents KEVIN DREW... in TRIPOD

Likened to the Buena Vista Social Club, Toronto's super group Broken Social Scene has spawned the first of a series of spin-offs. Coinciding with the release of the new album 'Spirit If…'Broken Social Scene presents Kevin Drew in Tripod. A co-founder of the band with Brendan Canning, this show will see Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Justin Peroff, along with new members will perform tracks from the new album and others planned in the series.

THE FIELD & HEXSTATIC & PREFUSE 73 in THE VILLAGE

Two scintillating debuts here and one reliable who never fails to compel. The Field is the critically acclaimed Stockholm, Sweden, based minimal techno artist who boasts one of the albums of 2007 in From Here We Go Sublime (rated 9.0 by influential Pitchfork Media). Hexstatic are the UK music duo who specialise in creating quirky audio visual electro. Stuart Warren Hill and Robin Brunson. Prefuse 73 is a Barcelona based hip hop artists who is signed to Warp Records. Scott Herren has released under various aliases (Savath & Savalas & Piano Overlord) but as Prefuse 73 he brings his glitch style to a wider audience. His new album Preparations is scheduled for release in October

YOUNGBLOOD BRASS BAND in WHELANS
support: North Strand Klezmer Band

Last seen on the main stage at the Electric Picnic, the nine-piece US Youngblood Brass Band return with their consistently progressive, acoustic, groundbreaking music. Hailed as the Midwest's answer to The Roots by the New Yorker and the must see band of the decade by the London Times, With influences from jazz music, improvised music, a decidedly punk ethos, and a strong hip hop component, the Youngblood Brass Band push the boundaries. Expect trumpets, saxaphones and trombones galore.

DJ PILOOSKI (d-i-r-t-y / Tiger Sushi, Paris) in SOLAS
support: Space Camp DJs

Pilooski is a unique act playing at the Heineken Green Synergy festival -an act who's name is whispered amongst rare disco enthusiasts, yet his re-edit of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons 'Beggin' is heard daily on BBC Radio, even more perculiar its even being played by DJs like Ray Darcy! when he last played Dublin's Space Camp he was all but unknown yet he surprised the regulars there with a highly eclectic. Rakim cancelled his European tour a couple of days after this was announced. What can you say, hiphoppers

Got tickets for prefuse 73...bit dissapointed :mad:

1. I though he was doing a headline show, not 3rd on the bill. Don't known hexstatic or the field.

2. It's in the village not whelans as previously advertised.
