GLASS CANDY
Portland's Glass Candy started out as a glammed-out no wave/ disco band back in 1996, but over the years they have transformed into a full fledged dance "band"- leaving the live drummer behind and going 100% electronic. Taking cues from cosmic/space and Italo disco, Glass Candy takes an organic approach to writing music, using all analogue gear and not a single computer. Comparisons have been drawn to Cerrone and Moroder for their approach towards making music without compromise. They have toured the USA seven times, released over 20 records in every possible format, and have a rabid fanbase throughout the world.

ended up going to this and Ellen Allien - Glass Candy was the job!!! She's mad as a bag of cats, it was brilliant. Those freaky German dudes up the front who were singing and kissing her toes were weird - one of them took pictures of me and my friend without asking, so we told him to stop, but he said he liked my silver dress so we just let him take a pic. Worst pic EVER but anyway.
Loved this gig. So disappointed with Ellen Allien (no offence to the promoters, it was more to do with the venue and the fact that the sound was awful. )

Yeah, they were excellent and yer wan's got some excellent dance moves. I was chatting to them after and they gave me one of their t-shirts, pretty nice of them.
