is anyone interested in gig swapping? its kinda like wife swapping etc theres no fluid involved and you dont need a wife.

79Cortinaz should, hopefully, be able to run monthly gigs in carlow. the deal would be split the door and any guest bands would return the favour by setting up a return gig in their home turf. everyone looks after their own expenses etc.

At the minute we just want to see who's interested, cus johns had a thread for ages in free for all but no-ones bothered.

How does it work? Everyone throws their plectrums into a glass bowl at the door, and you leave at the end of the night with someone else's drummer?
God help whoever gets our drummer

Do you reckon the chalets would be up for this to pimp their new ep.i quite fancy their drummer.

except if it was plectrums to be choosen from then there wouldnt be any drumemrs involved

basically its just a way of trying to open up places for gigs for all the bands involved. the tavern in carlow is a great little spot to gig, but noone ever plays there ... so we've organised to do some gigs there for the door. two bands at a time and they split the door. well, split the door money really, cus whats the point in lugging around half a door?

so, say if a band from limerick came up and played, then they would organise a gig in limerick in return for the gig in carlow. also means that that band in limerick could be doing the same thing with other bands, so basically if all the bands involved found a small venue near them to do gigs in once every month or two and invited others to play then we all could get the chance to play about in different parts of the country

its a good idea.we've pretty much got the venue in NUI Maynooth anytime we want.would that be an ok place, d'ya reckon?
