Mats Gustafsson's band The Thing and New York saxaphonist Tim Berne's band Snake Oil will permanently re-wire your perception of jazz.

Whirligig is an exploration of a multitude of musical genres for those who are willing to open their ears to new sounds. Expect anything and everything from jazz to samba, Irish trad to hip-hop. Monthly-ish at The Workman’s Club.

True. Its just a bit rightfield outta leftfield. Shes not the first person I would associate with in fairness, given The Things other collaborations. But hey, I'm all ears.

Considering the most 'out' moments of Rip Rig and Panic, The Don Cherry connection and the Sweden connection I was not the least bit surprised.

I really enjoyed

Tim Berne's Snake Oil, the thing didn't really do it for me though, i gave it about half an hour and bailed out. Nice venue, was never there before.​
