LOVEBOX DUBLIN by BACARDI
is proud to announce the addition of a FOURTH STAGE and new acts to its ever expanding line-up. The TROJAN SOUNDSYSTEM STAGE will feature DADDY G of MASSIVE ATTACK fame and ANDY SMITH (PORTISHEAD DJ). They will be joined by EARL GATESHEAD and DADDY AD with MCs SUPERFOUR CHUCKY BANTON and special guests, global reggae legends DENNIS ALCAPONE and ANTHONY JOHNSON.


The four stages at the LOVEBOX DUBLIN by BACARDI are:

MAIN STAGE: Groove Armada (Live), Super Furry Animals, The Rapture, Just Jack, Toots & The Maytals, Jape.

STRANGELOVE BY BURN:
Sasha, Black Strobe (Live), Spirit Catcher, Kissy Sellout

515 TENT:
Deadbots, Dancepig, Hystereo, Japanese Popstars, Source Code.

TROJAN SOUNDSYSTEM:
Dennis Alcapone & Anthony 'Gunshot' Johnson, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Andy Smith (Portishead), Y.T. (Sativa), Firehouse Paul Skank.


What began 5 years ago as Groove Armada's UK club residency, Lovebox has grown into London's only real fully fledged and independent festival with live stages, dance tents, fabulous food stalls, cocktail bars and cabaret all set to a wide and varied soundtrack lovingly curated by its esteemed hosts. On July 21st LOVEBOX DUBLIN by BACARDI will be heading to Dublin to celebrate its fifth birthday, bringing a slice of Lovebox to another great city.

I can't see why Groove Armada are given headlining gigs these days. They were headlining Electric Picnic last year..and after New Order tore the place apart they struck me as soulless drivel. Would love to see the Furries, but the whole Lovebox thing seems a bit too slick and out of touch and reminds me of some safe dance record collection from about 5 years ago.
 
Toots is always good live though.

even if the Maytals are dead and really it's a bit insulting to their memory to be going under that name
