We decided to find out. I thought it worked out for us because we were pretty sure it was a girl - and that's pretty good for bonding and all that malarkey.

There are private places that do 4D scans (one of them is attached to the Rotunda) so you get a detailed video and all that sort of stuff. There are some of them on youtube even.

I foolishly asked at the first scan and was scoffed at by the doctor. 'way too early to tell'. then we forgot the next couple of times. by the last scan we just decided to wait. glad we did; the surprise was great. EVERYONE got it wrong too, except the old man in the fruit and veg shop.

Back in the day, the Rotunda had a policy of not telling you. We didn't know, but my aul lad said if she wore a sock on her left foot while she was sleeping we'd have a boy.
