Film magazines & blogs (1 Viewer)

I get Sight & Sound every month and want more than just that. Any other good magazines or blogs for arthouse/non-blockbuster films?

I have a blog feed subscription to /Film so that'll do me for any and all stuff that would be in Empire or Total Film, both of which I'm not looking to get.

/film is ace for news and all that, so most film blogs I read now are just so I can read clever people talk about fillums. Top of that list is Shadowplay. I could be completely off my rocker, but I think the writer is a lecturer in film over in Scotland. Then there's Daily Film Dose, which is just (mostly) well-written reviews of films.

Apart from Empire, whose features are getting better, the only other magazine I would read now is Film Int. It can be hard to get a hold of, the only place I see it for sale regularly is Borders out in Blanchardstown, but it's worth the trek - it's like a slightly more philosophical Sight & Sound.

Take back what I said about Empire.. Picked up this months mag and it was alright. Big feature on upcoming films was very "meh" though.

One of the better smaller mags out there Electric Sheep just published it's last issue. Only lasted about 5/6 printed issues which is a pity. I still only get Sight & Sound on a regular basis.

I gave up on Empire and Premiere a long time ago.

They say Little White Lies is nifty. Nice covers too. Available on subscription from the UK for about €18.
