Minister for Community, Rural, and Gaeltacht Affairs Eamon Ó Cuív stepped in and grabbed a protester after he and his secretary were confronted by a 50-strong crowd.

Mr Ó Cuív held one of the students by the arms after his party was pushed against a wall as they entered the Quadrangle of NUI Galway last night

the photo evidence is of o'cuiv holding one of the protesters by the arms...which is what the report says he did

Well, I've heard of plenty of knuckle dragging remarks about people from Galway but I don't think their reach is from over the fence he's clearly standing behind all the way to the wall. AHAHA this is hilarious! Yeah that's me (Ben) alright! Surely ya could've known it was me and not Alex, Dan-sure my patches are cooler I'm on the second page of the Irish times today givin that bollocks a good shoutin at...wonder if the grandparents will recognise me lol.

Right, so I showed up at the quad for the protest and found the utterly useless shower of twats in the students union had organised a fucking candle-lit vigil (!!!) as a protest against O'Cuiv and Batt O'Keefe. So, bein me I was none too impressed with such a dose of wankery and wanted to actually DO something. Batt O' Keefe shows up and they (the SU crew) all stand out of his way and let him in! Hoping their candles and one banner will change gov't policy... Maybe 10 of us legged it and blocked his entrance. Big scuffle with him, security and two pigs who were shoving us like mad. O'Keefe comes up towards us with his "well its a democracy and you're entitled to protest" bollocks, ye shoulda seen his face change when some lad and me fucked him outta it. Brilliant! Being pushed by him was mad funny thinkin back! But any way the pigs just dragged us outta the way and he got in. And then those "let's pretend were activists for an evening" types start tellin me I outta line to be shoutin at him. That old "you're damaging the movement" nonsense ya always hear from those types. So I told them they were blatantly wrong and they all just shut up.

We got (literally) dragged out of the building by security when we tried to get into the building disrupt the meeting. But already we'd changed the mood of the event and people were more vocal/willing to do stuff. O'Cuiv shows up and trys to get in, almost everyone stands there like fuckin sheep but a decent crowd of us start roarin "don't let him in" etc. and block the door he's headin towards, he (and his p.a. and two security monkey men) change course and go up the stairs, we try and get up but security aint havin it, so Fox runs and jumps on the railin to climb over and block the door and I and a few others follow to help (ya know what us sXe types are like after a dose of them yokes Kollin got me hooked on ) O'Cuiv swings outta him for a bit, says to me repeatedly "ye're some shower of babies" (lol!) and that I'm a disgrace etc. Loads more climb up, security figthin everyone. Gets fairly heated in fairness but at NO point did anyone kick or hit him or his aid, or brandish a plack at them etc etc, as the photos clearly show. We were blocking the door, they attacked us. But sure everyone knows ministers tell outright fucking lies....

And then the S.U. types were shoutin at us to get down, that this is ridiculous etc. Just as it ended a big gang of pigs showed up, but nothing happened. It was so funny to see at the meeting we had after the way the students union changed their attitude from "ye went too far", to basically agreeing with us as soon as they realised basically the whole meeting supported what happened. Such a gang of wankers, no real interest in actually stopping fees/cutbacks and the destruction of the Irish eduction system. We discussed occupation of the building and so on and generally copped our dopey S.U. president on a bit.

So that's my long and winding report! If it's my patriotic duty, it's a good thing I'm not a a patriot! All you student types should go to the next ones for sure though!

Aye, never trust them SU wankers to do anything good at all no whatter where.
Here at Queens there was supposed to be a big protest against fees but them SU wankers called their protest off just because they got a seat on the committee discussing the raise of fees.
Obviously them SWP and Socialist Party folks are not exactly upper-class pseud-militant student wank and were not happy and got quite pissed off once the president of the SU tried to get them to stop the protest with the same weapon of offering a seat on the committe, obviously they didn't stop and it was up to a few SWP and Socialist Party guys plus a couple of anarchist to protest. All in all 15 people with all them student wank walking by and mostly laughing at us.
