Dublin band ESTEL Play Crawdaddy on saturday august 21st, with legendary saxophone player, Steve Mackay (of The Stooges) on board as a member of the band, as part of a short Irish tour.
ESTEL originally came into contact with Mackay during a recording date with punk rock legend, bassist Mike Watt (formerly of the seminal harcore band The Minutemen, no full time bassist with the Stooges) that resulted in the acclaimed ‘Untitled 1’ album, a collaboration between the band and Watt & Mackay. The album is great, check out some of the tracks at Estel's myspace site. The gig will feature full set of ESTEL tracks with some of Mackay’s solo pieces and maybe a little Stooges thrown in for good measure. The gig promises to a unique cross pollination between one of Dublin longest running underground acts, and a legend of US rock and experimental music.
