Enhancing pics with Photoshop? (1 Viewer)

i find the extract filter is far more acurate than feathering selections...

about curves though - I stayed away from them for years cos I didnt fully understand them, theyre not that complex really - just a bit intimidating. levels work well too mind...
 
I use them myself. But I always start with Levels to sort the white balance. Just the way I work I suppose.

I just think Levels is easier when you’re only learning.

For complex selections, I usually resort to plug-ins.
 
Started using gimp/gimpshop today as part of my trying to run my desktop without any windows shit.

Itdoes what I need it to do and I'm happy with the results. It's definately not photoshop though. Might look into getting a windows virtual machine just for photoshop as I've a copy of CS2 sitting here collecting dust.
