Earplugs (for sleeping) (1 Viewer)

Hey,
I need to get earplugs for sleeping, not for gig going... ie, ones that will block out as much sound as possible.
Any recommendations or online info..?

i use the regular foam ones, theyre grand. they mightnt block out all noise, but as good as. any loud noises will be dulled enough so that they wont disturb you.

If you put the foam ones in properly they will block out almost everything.

You know they are in properly when that little triangle of cartilage is half covering the end of the ear plug. Like, you can hold your hand across your ear and not touch the foam.
You have to roll it tightly and then quickly put it in.

I dont mean to be stating the bleeding obvious here, just I heard a lot of people saying that those plugs fall out, or dont work well when the problem is they are just not putting them in right.

Yeah, helps aswell to pull the top of you ear upwards and outwards with you other hand while your putting it in.

ive often used wet tissue on many many occasions.
worked well.
except that time one bit got stuck in my ear and it took hours to get it out.
just make sure you use a big sized lump that wont go into your brain

Generally a bad idea, a mate of mine ended up having to go to hospital to get a bit taken out before. Alot of swimmers use blutac aswell actually, sceptical about that though

you could always just get two lads to place their balls over your ears as you sleep

wax ones are good too. work for me.

I use foam ones from time to time. If you use them right, you'll hear damn all. You can get em in a pharmacy for less than a euro. I use a brand called E-A-R Classic and they are very good indeedy.

The wax ones are great. Blu tac definitely keeps water out but not sure about sound.
